2009 Renaissance Art Contest
In honor of our 10th Anniversary, we’ll be holding an exciting new contest!
Submit your finest artwork that captures the spirit and magic that is the Louisiana Renaissance Festival to us no later than 5 pm on Friday, October 2, 2009.
Entries will be selected using a two part process. The first round of judging will be conducted by a panel selected by the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. The entries selected by this panel will be posted on our website on Monday, October 5th where the public will be able to vote by email for their favorite entry. Once the votes are tallied, the Grand Prize Winner and an Honorable Mention Winner will be announced!
Prizes will be awarded as follows:
Grand Prize: $50 cash prize Honorable Mention: $25 cash prize.
In addition to the cash prizes, any artwork submitted to the art contest may be used by the festival for promotional purposes such as a festival calendar. If your artwork is used by the festival you will receive a complimentary copy of the item featuring your artwork.
All artists submitting artwork must send us a signed release form, which is available at http://www.larf.org/2009artcontest.pdf
The completed Official Entry form must be on file in our office prior to your entry being considered.
The preferred submission method for digital artwork is via Email. Email artwork to contest@larf.org. If you submit your entry via email, you must either scan in your completed entry form and include it in the email or fax the completed form to us at 877-203-2910.
Artwork (including digital and hand drawn) may also be submitted via US Mail or in person.

Rules of the Contest:
The Louisiana Renaissance Festival Art Contest 2009 is open to everyone of all ages. There is no residency requirement or fees to enter the contest.
There is no limit on how many designs you may submit for consideration. A completed entry form must be on file for each person submitting an entry via email. Entries submitted by mail or in person must have a completed entry form included with each package submitted.
All submissions must be the original artwork of the person submitting the work.
Preferred media is .jpg, .gif, .tif, or .bmp digital file. Acceptable media include paint, pencil, markers, ink, chalk, pastel, photography, collage, mixed media, and digital art. Digital files should be a minimum of 300 dpi and should be 12 inches wide.
All artwork MUST be family friendly. Risqué or offensive entries will be disqualified. The Louisiana Renaissance Festival reserves the right to determine what is considered family friendly and appropriate.
All submissions become the property of the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. Through submission of artwork, contestants and their legal guardians grant non-exclusive reproduction and publication rights to the works submitted. If your submission is used on any 2009 or 2010 Promotional Products, such as calendars, you will receive a free copy of that item. Submissions will not be returned.
All email correspondence must originate from the email address listed on the official entry form.
The Louisiana Renaissance Festival is not responsible for lost or damaged entries.
